Luke 2:49

To Glorify the Father’s NAME

• John 12:28 – “Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”

To Bring to the Father’s HOUSE

• John 14:2 – “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

To Carry Out the Father’s WILL

• Luke 22:42 – “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

To Unfold the Father’s LOVE

• John 16:27 – “For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God.”

WHAT WAS HIS FATHER’S BUSINESS?

To Do the Father’s WORK

• John 10:37 – “If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;”

To Proclaim the Father’s WORDS

• John 17:8 – “For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.”

To Reveal the Father’s CHARACTER

• John 1:14-18 – “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, ‘This was He of whom I said, “He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.”‘ And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.”
