The oral prophets in the Old Testament are so-called to distinguish them from the prophets who wrote the books. Thus, they are known for speaking their prophecies rather than writing them down. Five of the leading ones are mentioned below.
1. SAMUEL – Organizer of the United Kingdom and founder of a school of prophets
2. NATHAN – Adviser to King David. “The word of the Lord came to the prophet.” – 2 Samuel 24:11
3. ABIJAH – Adviser to King Jeroboam
4. ELIJAH – Led in the fight against the worship of Baal
5. ELISHA – Led in the fight against the worship of Baal

- Peter’s first denial
- Jesus slapped by one of the officers

2. HOUSE OF CAIPHAS
- Matthew 26:57-68
- False witnesses were brought
- One charge was made – Jesus was charged with blasphemy
- Caiphas rent (tore) his clothes
- They spat upon Christ and hit him with their hands
- Peter denied the Lord the second time and the third time
- Jesus was taken to the Sanhedrin
3. THE SANHEDRIN

- Blasphemy
- Treason
- Jesus was taken to Pilate
