The Cave of Machpelah

Located at Hebron, about 20 miles from Jerusalem. Abraham purchases the Cave of Machpelah from Ephron, a Hittite, for 400 shekels of silver as a burial place for Sarah. Genesis 23 records the entire narrative of Abraham purchasing the Cave of Machpelah from Ephron, son of Zohar, who was dwelling among the children of Heth in the land of Canaan.
