Summary of the Bible Story

Bible images

1. Creation and Fall: God created man and placed him in the Garden of Eden. Man sinned, falling from God’s intended design.

2. Redemption Plan: God initiated a plan for redemption through Abraham, forming a nation for the Messiah’s arrival. Abraham’s descendants migrated to Egypt, grew into a mighty nation, and were led back to Canaan by Moses and Joshua.

3. Nationhood and Division: Developed into a mighty nation under David and Solomon. Divided into Israel (northern) and Judah (southern). Israel fell to Assyria in 722 B.C., while Judah succumbed to Babylon in 586 B.C.

4. Exile and Restoration: A remnant returned from Babylonian captivity in 536 B.C. Reestablished national life in Palestine, closing the Old Testament era.

5. Messiah’s Arrival: Jesus, fulfilling Old Testament prophecy, appeared. He performed redemptive work, was crucified, and rose from the dead.

6. Spread of the Gospel: Disciples spread the gospel to all nations, establishing the church in Jerusalem on Pentecost. Mission efforts, notably by Paul, extended the message through Asia Minor, Greece, and Rome.

7. New Testament Period: The gospel reached every nation under heaven. The New Testament concludes with books penned, outlining human redemption and anticipating the Lord’s return.
