In our exploration of Jesus as the true King, we delve into the facets of His authority, loyalty, enemies, and love, as revealed in Scripture:

  1. A King’s Authority (Matthew 28:19-20): Jesus possesses absolute authority, as declared in Matthew 28:19-20, where He commissions His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. His authority is unrivaled and answers only to God the Father.
  2. A King’s Loyalty (Matthew 12:30): Jesus demands our loyalty, as stated in Matthew 12:30, where He declares, “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” As His subjects, we are called to wholeheartedly commit ourselves to His cause and kingdom.
  3. A King’s Enemies (Matthew 16:21): Jesus faced opposition and suffered at the hands of His enemies, as depicted in Matthew 16:21, where He foretells His suffering, death, and resurrection. Despite the hostility He encountered, Jesus remained steadfast in fulfilling the will of God and accomplishing salvation for humanity.
  4. A King’s Love (Matthew 20:28): Jesus exemplifies sacrificial love for His kingdom, subjects, and even His enemies, as evidenced in Matthew 20:28, where He declares, “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” His love knows no bounds, extending to all who come to Him in repentance and faith.

Truly, Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, reigning with unmatched authority, unwavering loyalty, unyielding courage in the face of enemies, and unparalleled love for all. As we continue to explore His kingship, let us bow in reverence and devotion to the one true King who reigns for eternity.
