Hope is described in the Bible as:
- Door (Hosea 2:15) – Hope is a door for escaping present troubles and entering a brighter path.
- Anchor (Hebrews 6:19) – Hope provides a reference point for our lives and motivates us to live in a way that leads to the hoped-for reward (1 John 3:2-3; Hebrews 6:18; Titus 2:11-12).
- Helmet (1 Thessalonians 5:8) – Hope protects our mind from the trials of life and gives us the perseverance to continue when others might give up (1 Thessalonians 1:3 NASB).
The Christian’s hope is centered on Christ and in Christ (1 Timothy 1:1; 1 Peter 1:3). Without Christ, there is no eternal hope (1 Corinthians 15:19; 1 Thessalonians 4:13).
Wherein does your eternal hope rest?
