Definitions:
- FORNICATION – Human sexual intercourse other than between a man and his wife; sexual intercourse between a spouse and an unmarried person; sexual intercourse between unmarried people.
- ADULTERY – Voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and someone other than their spouse.
Scriptural Condemnation:
- Old Testament
Exodus 20:14 – “You shall not commit adultery.” - New Testament
Matthew 19:9 – Adultery as grounds for divorce.
Matthew 5:32 – Adultery is grounds for divorce.
Forgiveness and Consequences:
- Adultery can be forgiven, but it should not continue after forgiveness.
- Adultery is the only Scriptural ground for ending a marriage (Matthew 19:9).
- The adulterous spouse cannot scripturally remarry.
- The “innocent party” can remarry, provided they marry scripturally.
- God hates divorce

Adultery is Wrong Because:
- ADULTERY IS AGAINST GOD

- ADULTERY IS AGAINST SOCIETY
- ADULTERY IS AGAINST THE CHURCH
- ADULTERY IS AGAINST BIBLICAL TEACHING
