- Sin is a failure to do good:
- James 4:17 – “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.”
- Sin is deceptive:
- Sin can mislead us, distorting our perception of right and wrong, leading us to act in ways contrary to God’s will.
- Sin is a transgression of God’s law:
- 1 John 3:4 – “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.”
- Sin has a binding, enslaving power:
- Sin has the ability to control and enslave individuals, preventing them from living in freedom.
- Sin has a remedy:
- Matthew 26:28 – “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
- Jesus’ sacrifice provides the remedy for sin, offering forgiveness and salvation.
