Psalm 73:28

When we draw near to God, we draw:

• Away from Ourselves
• Romans 12:3 – We must not think of ourselves more highly than we ought.
• 1 Corinthians 9:27 – We discipline our bodies and bring them into subjection.
• Matthew 16:24 – Deny ourselves and take up our cross to follow Christ.
• Away from the World
• 1 John 2:15-17 – Do not love the world or the things in it.
• Romans 12:2 – Do not conform to the patterns of this world.
• 1 John 5:4 – Overcoming the world through faith.
• Near One Another
• 2 Peter 1:1 – Faith shared with others.
• Philippians 1:27 – Stand firm in one spirit, striving together with one mind.
• Acts 4:32 – All believers were of one heart and mind.
• God Near Us
• James 4:8 – Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
• Hebrews 7:19 – A better hope, drawing near to God.
• Acts 17:27 – God is not far from any of us.
• Others to Consider
• Philippians 2:14-15 – Do everything without grumbling, so that you may shine among others.
• 1 Peter 3:1-2 – Let your conduct influence others, drawing them to God.

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” – Acts 4:13

• Away from Doubts & Fears
• Matthew 26:58 – Peter followed Jesus, but from a distance.
• Romans 14:23 – Whatever does not come from faith is sin.
• Matthew 14:29-31 – Jesus helps Peter overcome his fear when he starts sinking in doubt.

God is as near as we will allow Him to be!
