Purposes of Being Sealed:

1. Declares the authenticity of a thing

• John 3:33: “He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true.”

1. Conceals until time for disclosure

• Revelation 5:1-4: The sealed scroll revealed at the proper time.

1. Demonstrates authority

• Matthew 27:66: “Sealing the stone” at the tomb to demonstrate authority.

1. Proclaims ownership

• 2 Timothy 2:19: “The Lord knows those who are His.”
