Carelessness

  • Matthew 12:30: “He who is not with Me is against Me.”
  • 1 Corinthians 15:58: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.”

Neglect

  • Hebrews 2:1-3: “We must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.”
  • 2 Peter 1:5-12: (Warnings about neglecting to grow in faith and virtue).

Over Confidence

  • Luke 22:31-34: (Jesus warns Peter about Satan’s desire to sift him).
  • 1 Corinthians 10:12: “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.”

Flirtation

  • James 4:7: “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
  • Ephesians 4:26-27: “Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.”

Excuse Making
