Preventive Discipline

  • Teach to Accept Responsibility

  • Avoid ambiguity in rules and expectations.

Corrective Discipline

  • Whipping/Spanking
  • A form of physical discipline when necessary, used sparingly and in love.

  • Restrict privileges as a consequence of misbehavior.

  • Remove certain freedoms or activities as a consequence.
  • “Chewing Out”
  • Verbally correcting behavior, but avoiding harsh or damaging language.
  • Extra Duties
  • Assign additional chores or responsibilities as corrective action.
  • Admonish – Exhort – Encourage
  • Offer correction with encouragement for improvement.
