Our Relationship in Jesus Christ

Bible images

“These… washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”
Revelation 7:14

There is a definite, sustained relationship between:

  • Jesus and His body, the Church
  • Christ and members of His body
  • The Church and its members

Jesus Christ is:

  • The Head (Ephesians 1:22-23)
  • The Savior (1 John 4:14)
  • The Redeemer (Titus 2:14)
  • The Washer (Ephesians 5:26)
  • The Sanctifier (Ephesians 2:11)

The Church is:

  • The Body (Ephesians 1:22-23)
  • The Saved
  • The Redeemed (1 Peter 1:18)
  • The Washed (1 Corinthians 6:11)
  • The Sanctified (1 Corinthians 1:2)
  • The Kingdom (Galatians 3:29)
  • A Citizen (Ephesians 2:19)

A Christian is:

  • A Member (1 Corinthians 12:27)
  • Saved
  • Redeemed (Ephesians 1:7)
  • Washed (Revelation 1:5)
  • A Saint (Philippians 1:1)
  • An Heir of God (Romans 8:16)
  • A King (1 Timothy 6:15)
  • A Joint Heir (Romans 8:17)
  • In the Flock (John 10:11)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
