Is Your All on the Altar?

Genesis 12:7 – God promises to give the land to Abram’s descendants after Abram builds an altar and worships Him.

Genesis 15:9-10 – Abram obeys God’s command to offer sacrifices, highlighting the importance of offering to God in faith.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO PLACE ON THE ALTAR?

  1. We need to place OURSELVES
    • Romans 6:13 – “Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God…”
    • Romans 12:1 – “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
    • The first and most significant offering is ourselves—our hearts, our wills, and our lives.
  2. We need to place OUR FAMILY
    • Joshua 24:15 – “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
    • Our families are an important part of our offering. We dedicate them to God, seeking His will for their lives and aligning our household to His purpose.
  3. We need to place OUR POSSESSIONS
    • Psalm 116:12 – “What shall I return to the Lord for all His goodness to me?”
    • Our possessions, whether material or spiritual, must be offered to God. Recognizing that everything we have is from Him, we give back in gratitude, acknowledging His provision and lordship over all.

WHAT IS OFFERED ON THE ALTAR THEN BELONGS TO THE ONE TO WHOM THE OFFERING IS MADE.

When we place our lives, families, and possessions on the altar, we are surrendering them fully to God, committing them to His care, and trusting His will.

WHAT HAVE YOU OFFERED TO THE LORD?

The challenge for each of us is to reflect on what we have offered to the Lord. Have we surrendered our all, trusting Him with every area of our lives?
