Faith & Reason Nexus

1. Head of the Home
   • The husband is to be the spiritual leader and guide in the family, providing direction and protection, as Christ is the head of the church.
   • Ephesians 5:23: “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and He is the Savior of the body.”
2. Be Faithful to Her
   • Faithfulness in marriage is vital; husbands are called to remain loyal and committed to their wives, honoring the sacred bond of marriage.
   • Hebrews 13:4: “Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”
3. Love His Wife
   • A husband’s love for his wife should reflect the sacrificial, selfless love that Christ has for the church.
   • Ephesians 5:25: “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.”
   • Colossians 3:19: “Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.”
4. Support Her
   • The husband is responsible for providing for the material, emotional, and spiritual needs of his wife and family.
   • 1 Timothy 5:8: “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.”
5. Honor His Wife
   • Husbands are to treat their wives with respect and honor, recognizing their value as co-heirs in God’s grace.
   • 1 Peter 3:7: “Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.”

These obligations emphasize the sacrificial and nurturing role a husband must take on in marriage, following the example of Christ’s love and leadership.
