By strengthening these areas in your own family, you can improve relationships and increase your chances of a stable home and successful family.

  1. COMMUNICATION(Ephesians 4:31-32)
    • Get to know one another by talking and listening.
    • Learn to respond thoughtfully rather than reacting impulsively.
    • Use family meal time as an opportunity for meaningful conversation between all members of the family.
  2. AFFIRMING & SUPPORTING(1 Thessalonians 5:11)
    • All family members should express appreciation for and offer praise to one another.
    • Avoid pressuring one another with unrealistic expectations. Encourage and uplift each other with kindness.
  3. RESPECTING OTHERS(Hebrews 12:9)
    • Begin with respect for oneself, then learn to respect individual differences within the family.
    • Practice living together in harmony, appreciating each other’s unique qualities.
    • Understand that respect does not always equal approval—respect is about acknowledging each other’s value as individuals.
