Not only King of the Jews, but King of our Lives
- The Appointed King
- Jesus’ kingship was foretold and ordained by God long before His birth.
- Scriptural Basis:
- Micah 5:2: “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.”
- His reign was divinely planned and rooted in eternity.
- The Anointed King
- Jesus was chosen and set apart by God to rule with righteousness.
- Scriptural Basis:
- Hebrews 1:8-9: “But to the Son He says: ‘Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom… Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”
- He is anointed as the eternal King who reigns in justice and holiness.
- The Assaulted King
- Before His triumph, Jesus faced rejection, mockery, and suffering at the hands of men.
- Scriptural Basis:
- John 19:1-3: “So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head… and they struck Him with their hands.”
- Despite being the true King, He bore the shame of human sin and rejection.
- The Ascended King
- After His victory over sin and death, Jesus ascended to sit at the right hand of God.
- Scriptural Basis:
- Acts 5:30-32: “The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.”
- His ascension signifies His authority and His continuing work as our Savior and King.
- The Acclaimed King
- Jesus will return as the victorious and glorious King to rule forever.
- Scriptural Basis:
- Revelation 19:11-16: “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True… and on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”
- At His return, all will see Him as the eternal, sovereign King who reigns over all creation.
