1. Hear Christ
- Matthew 17:5 – “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased. Listen to Him.”
- Christ must be heard, and His message is revealed through the New Testament.
2. Believe in Christ
- John 8:24 – “I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am He, you will indeed die in your sins.”
- Hebrews 11:6 – “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”
- Faith in Christ is essential for salvation.
3. Repent of Sins
- Luke 13:3, 5 – “I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”
- Acts 2:38 – “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.”
- Repentance is a necessary step for forgiveness and salvation.
4. Confess Christ
- Matthew 10:32-33 – “Whoever acknowledges Me before men, I will also acknowledge him before My Father in heaven. But whoever disowns Me before men, I will disown him before My Father in heaven.”
- Acts 8:37 – “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
- Confession of faith in Christ is essential for salvation.
5. Be Baptized
- Mark 16:16 – “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”
- Acts 2:38 – “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.”
- 1 Peter 3:21 – “This water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
- Acts 22:16 – “And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on His name.”
- Galatians 3:27 – “For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”
- Romans 6:3-5 – “Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
- Baptism is an essential part of the salvation process, for the forgiveness of sins.
6. Live Faithfully After Obeying the Gospel
- 2 Peter 3:18 – “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”
- 2 Timothy 2:15 – “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
- 2 Timothy 3:16-17 – “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
- Revelation 2:10 – “Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.”
- Hebrews 10:25 – “Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
- John 4:24 – “God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
- 2 Peter 1:5-8 – “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.”
- 2 Timothy 2:2 – “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
- Christians must study the Bible, grow spiritually, and remain faithful to God for the rest of their lives.
