Philippians 4 reveals six things every Christian has.


1. Every Christian Has the Privilege of Prayer
Philippians 4:6 – Prayer is a privilege, allowing Christians to bring their requests before God.

  • 1 John 5:14 – We have confidence that God hears us when we pray according to His will.
  • Hebrews 4:14-16 – We can approach the throne of grace with boldness, knowing we will receive mercy and grace in time of need.

2. Every Christian Has the Peace of God to Keep
Philippians 4:7 – God’s peace, which surpasses all understanding, guards our hearts and minds.

  • John 14:27 – Jesus gives peace, not as the world gives, but as a deep, lasting peace.
  • Romans 8:28 – All things work together for good to those who love God, which brings peace even in difficult times.

3. Every Christian Has the Pattern of Others to Follow
Philippians 4:9 – Christians are encouraged to follow the example of others who live faithfully.

  • 1 Corinthians 11:1 – Paul says, “Imitate me, as I imitate Christ.”
  • Philippians 3:17 – Follow those who walk according to the example set by godly leaders.

4. Every Christian Has the Promises of God to Provide
Philippians 4:19 – God promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.

  • Matthew 6:33 – Seek first the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you.
  • Romans 8:31-32 – If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son will also give us all things.

5. Every Christian Has the Power of Christ to Strengthen
Philippians 4:13 – We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

  • John 15:5 – Without Christ, we can do nothing, but with Him, we bear much fruit.
  • Ephesians 3:17-21 – Christ strengthens us with power through His Spirit in the inner man, enabling us to comprehend the vastness of His love.

6. Every Christian Has the Policy of Contentment & Calm
Philippians 4:7 – The peace of God calms the heart and mind, bringing contentment in all circumstances.

  • Hebrews 13:5 – Be content with what you have, for God has promised never to leave or forsake you.
  • 1 Timothy 6:6-8 – Godliness with contentment is great gain; we bring nothing into the world, and we take nothing out.
