The Proper Order of Things

(1 Corinthians 11:3)

The order of authority as described in this verse emphasizes a hierarchical structure with clear roles for each person, reflecting God’s design for relationships.

  1. God
    • God is the ultimate authority, the Creator of all things. He is the head of Christ and the foundation of all order in the universe.
  2. Christ
    • Christ, as the Son of God, submits to the authority of God. In His earthly ministry, He demonstrated submission to the Father’s will, showing that even in His divine nature, submission and order are part of God’s plan.
  3. Man
    • Man is under the authority of Christ, following His example and leadership. Men are called to lead and serve within their families and communities, reflecting Christ’s love and sacrifice.
  4. Woman
    • Woman is under the authority of man, but this does not mean inferiority. Rather, women are called to complement and assist men in their roles, with mutual respect and partnership. Women have an essential role in God’s plan, and their role within the family and society is of great value.

This structure reflects God’s design for order and harmony, emphasizing relationships built on respect, love, and mutual submission within the respective roles.
