“To Be Saved”
- Acts 16:19-31
Saved From What?
Salvation is not about being saved from mere life challenges or discomforts but from something much deeper:
- Not from immaturity
- Not from ignorance
- Not from boredom
- Not from anxiety
- Not from worry
- Not from nervousness
- Not from confusion
- Not from sickness
- Not from death (Hebrews 9:27)
Saved From Sin
The core of salvation is being saved from sin—its guilt, consequences, and ultimate punishment.
- Saved from missing the mark
- Saved from the guilt of sin
- Saved from the consequences of sin
- Saved from the punishment for sin
As it says in Acts 16:33, “And immediately he and all his family were baptized,” highlighting the immediate and transformative nature of salvation.
Consequences of Not Being Saved
Without salvation, a person faces severe consequences:
- Lost Without Hope
- Ephesians 2:12
- Doomed to a Prayerless Life
- John 9:31
- Proverbs 15:29
- Without Spiritual Blessings
- Ephesians 1:3
- Without Redemption
- Romans 3:24
- Ephesians 1:7
- Will Die Not Once, But Twice
- Hebrews 9:27
- Revelation 20:14-15
We Now Have a Choice
The Bible presents us with a choice, emphasizing the need for salvation through Christ:
- Romans 3:9-10
- Romans 3:23
- Romans 5:12
- Ezekiel 18:20
- John 8:34
- Romans 3:23-24
- Romans 6:11-14
- Romans 6:16-18
- Romans 6:20-23
- 1 Corinthians 15:22
- Ezekiel 18:19-21
Our Two Choices
- We can live a life with God or a life without God.
- We can live a God-centered life or a self-centered life.
Salvation presents us with a choice of eternal importance, directing us toward a life in communion with God or away from Him.
