AN OBEDIENT CHRIST

  • Matthew 26:39 – Jesus submitted to God’s will, saying, “Not as I will, but as You will.”
  • Hebrews 5:8-9 – Through suffering, He learned obedience and became the source of eternal salvation.
  • John 17:4 – Jesus completed the work God gave Him to do, glorifying the Father.
  • Matthew 3:13-17 – Jesus obeyed God’s command by being baptized, fulfilling all righteousness.

AN UNARROGANT CHRIST

  • Philippians 2:6-8 – Though He was in the form of God, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death.
  • Luke 18:9-14 – Jesus taught humility through the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector.
  • James 4:10 – “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
  • 1 Peter 5:6 – “Humble yourselves under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.”

AN UNSELFISH CHRIST

  • 2 Corinthians 8:9 – Though He was rich, He became poor for our sake, so we might become rich.
  • Philippians 2:3-5 – Jesus modeled humility, valuing others above Himself.
  • Matthew 7:12 – The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
  • 1 John 3:17 – Genuine love requires meeting the needs of others selflessly.

A CHRIST WITH CONVICTIONS

  • John 2:13-17 – Jesus cleared the temple, expressing zeal for His Father’s house.
  • Matthew 23:15 – Jesus firmly rebuked the hypocrisy of the Pharisees.
  • Mark 3:5 – Jesus showed righteous anger against hardened hearts while healing a man.

A NON-RETALIATING CHRIST

  • 1 Peter 2:22-23 – He did not retaliate when insulted or mistreated, entrusting Himself to God.
  • Romans 12:18-21 – Overcome evil with good; do not repay anyone evil for evil.
  • Matthew 5:39 – Turn the other cheek and refuse to respond to evil with vengeance.

A FORGIVING CHRIST

  • Luke 23:34 – On the cross, Jesus prayed for His enemies: “Father, forgive them.”
  • Matthew 6:14-15 – Forgive others so that your heavenly Father will forgive you.
  • Matthew 18:23-35 – The parable of the unforgiving servant teaches the necessity of extending forgiveness to others.

Strive to follow His example of obedience, humility, selflessness, conviction, patience, and forgiveness in all aspects of life.
