God Created the World from NOTHING

  • Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
  • Hebrews 1:3 – “Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power…”
  • Psalm 33:8-9 – “Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.”

Can Do NOTHING and Be Lost

  • John 15:5 – “I am the vine; ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
  • Matthew 12:30 – “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.”
  • Galatians 3:26-27 – “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”

Sometimes Something Is NOTHING. At Other Times NOTHING Is Really SOMETHING

  • 1 Corinthians 1:18-24 – “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”
  • Matthew 11:25 – “At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.”

Deeds Without Love Are NOTHING

  • 1 Corinthians 13:2-3 – “And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.”
  • Matthew 16:2-5 – “He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.”
  • Matthew 10:4 – “Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.”

Savorless Salt Is Good for NOTHING

  • Matthew 5:13 – “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”
  • Colossians 4:6 – “Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”

Will Carry NOTHING Out of This World

  • 1 Timothy 6:7 – “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”
  • Matthew 6:19-20 – “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.”

Sometimes We Know NOTHING About Something. It Is Important That We Know Something About NOTHING.

  • “As nothing, and yet possessing all things.” – 2 Corinthians 6:10 – “As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.”

This chart emphasizes the profound spiritual truths surrounding “nothing” in biblical context. While we see that nothing in the earthly sense is of lasting value, spiritually, it shows that nothing apart from Christ can be meaningful or valuable. It reminds us that true significance comes not from material things, but from faith, love, and a relationship with God.
