What is Wrong With Denominational Baptism?

Denominational Baptism is Wrong Because It Has the Wrong Confession

  1. The Issue with Denominational Confession
    • The common denominational confession, “God for Christ’s sake pardoned my sins” prior to baptism, is unscriptural.
    • Claiming forgiveness before reaching the blood of Christ through baptism contradicts Biblical teaching.
  2. Biblical Confession Preceding Baptism
    • The proper confession is found in Acts 8:35-38, where the Ethiopian eunuch declares:
“I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
    • This acknowledgment of Jesus’ divine identity aligns with God’s Word.
  3. Baptism and Salvation
    • Baptism is essential for salvation, but it saves only through the blood of Christ:
      • “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:16)
      • “There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 3:21)

Reflection Question:
Do you practice New Testament baptism, which adheres to God’s Word, or a denominational baptism influenced by human traditions?
