Events at the Crucifixion

    After Jesus’ death, many of the saints who had died were resurrected and appeared to many in Jerusalem.

    To confirm Jesus’ death, a Roman soldier pierces His side with a spear, fulfilling prophecy.
  24. Christ’s body taken down from the cross – Matthew 27:57-61, John 19:39-42
    Jesus’ body is removed from the cross by Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus.
  25. Christ’s body was wrapped in linen and laid in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea – Luke 23:53
    Jesus is buried in the newly prepared tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, fulfilling the prophecy of His burial.

Jesus’ crucifixion, though a moment of intense suffering, becomes the means of drawing all people to Him for salvation.
