Denominationalism Contradicts the Bible

Denominationalism teaches that there are many bodies or churches, each with its own leadership and doctrine. However, the Bible teaches that there is only one body, the Church of Christ, made up of all believers united in Him (1 Corinthians 12:20; Ephesians 4:4-6).

Denominations are often founded by men, but the Bible teaches that the Church was founded by Christ Himself (Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:47).

In denominationalism, human leaders often serve as the heads of churches. In contrast, the Bible teaches that Christ is the supreme head of the Church (Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18).

Denominationalism may rely on human creeds for guidance, but the Bible states that Scripture alone is the guide for the Church (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Revelation 22:18-19).

Denominations often wear human names, but the Bible commands Christians to glorify God and bear the name of Christ alone (1 Peter 4:16; Acts 11:26).

While denominationalism may promote following men, the Bible condemns such behavior, urging believers to follow Christ and His Word alone (1 Corinthians 1:10-13; Matthew 15:14).

Denominationalism teaches the existence of many churches, but the Bible stresses that there is only one true Church, the body of Christ (Romans 16:16; Ephesians 4:4-6).
