The Boundlessness of God

Bible images

God’s nature is infinite and beyond human comprehension. His presence, power, and majesty extend far beyond all creation.

1. The Heaven of Heavens Cannot Contain Him

God’s greatness is so vast that even the highest heavens are insufficient to contain His presence.

  • 1 Kings 8:27: “Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You.”

2. He Is Exalted Above All

God is supreme, exalted above all nations, rulers, and creation.

  • Isaiah 33:5: “The Lord is exalted, for He dwells on high.”

3. He Is Everywhere

God’s omnipresence means He knows everything about us and is with us at all times.

  • Psalm 139:1-6: “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?”

4. He Is Not Confined

God does not dwell in man-made temples or structures but is the Creator and Sustainer of all life.

  • Acts 17:22-31: God is not served by human hands, as He Himself gives life and breath to all.

5. Heaven Is His Throne; Earth Is His Footstool

God’s majesty and dominion encompass both heaven and earth, signifying His sovereignty.

  • Isaiah 66:1: “Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool.”

6. He Dwells in Eternity

God exists outside of time, inhabiting eternity and holding all of creation in His hands.

  • Isaiah 57:15: “The High and Lofty One… inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy.”

7. He Is Not Comparable to Other ‘Gods’

God is unique and unparalleled in majesty, holiness, and power.

  • Psalm 113:5: “Who is like the Lord our God, who is enthroned on high?”

Reflection

Have you allowed God to lodge in your heart? Despite His boundlessness, God desires to dwell with the humble and contrite. Invite Him into your heart and experience His infinite love and presence.
