Sin’s Deceptive Appeal

Sin often appears enticing, offering temporary pleasure or gain. However, its true cost is devastating—both in this life and in eternity.

“But encourage one another daily… so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”
Hebrews 3:13


Examples of Sin’s Cost

    • Genesis 3:6, 16-19, 23: Their disobedience brought sin, suffering, and death into the world.
    • Romans 5:12: Through Adam, sin entered humanity, and its consequences remain.

    • Genesis 19:17-26: Her longing for a sinful city led to her destruction.
    • Luke 17:32: Jesus reminds us to learn from her example.
    • Luke 9:62: Looking back is a sign of divided loyalty.

    • Joshua 7: Achan’s greed led to his death and punishment for Israel.

“The scale of pay hasn’t changed in our time—sin still brings eternal death.”

Reflection

Sin may promise satisfaction, but it only delivers destruction. God offers an alternative: eternal life through Jesus Christ. Choose the path of life and reject the deceptive bargain of sin. Are you living for eternal rewards or temporary gains?
