  • Simon: Also known as the Zealot or Canaanite. His parents are unknown, and he was from Galilee. His occupation is not specified, and no writings are attributed to him. Tradition suggests he was crucified.
  • Judas: Also called Iscariot, son of Simon. He came from Bethsaida, Capernaum, and Jerusalem. His occupation is not mentioned, and no writings are linked to him. He betrayed Jesus and later hanged himself.
  • Matthias: Chosen to replace Judas (Acts 1:20-26), his parents are unknown, and his home is not specified. His occupation is not recorded, and no writings are attributed to him. Tradition holds that he suffered martyrdom in Ethiopia.
  • Paul: Originally named Saul (his Jewish name), born in Tarsus in Cilicia. A tent maker by trade, he wrote many letters (epistles) that are now part of the New Testament. He was the Apostle to the Gentiles, made three missionary journeys, was imprisoned in Rome, and was executed by beheading in Rome.
