- GIVE UP
- Use only as a temporary “solution” to diffuse a heated situation.
- Long-term “giving up” stifles the relationship.
- WIN
- Remember that personal relationships in marriage and family are often more important than the goal itself.
- Winning an argument doesn’t always mean success in the relationship.
- GIVE IN
- While having the right motive, it fails to resolve underlying issues.
- It can set the relationship up for long-term difficulties.
- COMPROMISE
- Sometimes a good option for areas of preference.
- However, compromising at the expense of truth and right is always wrong.
- RESOLVE
- Always the best way to truly solve problems.
- Resolving conflicts strengthens and maintains a healthy, mutual relationship.
Note: There is never a right way to do a wrong thing!
