The Church is PEOPLE, not a building!
In the original language of the New Testament (Greek), the word is “ekklesia.”
“Ekklesia” is the combining of two other words to create one distinct idea:
- “EK” – The prefix is a preposition that primarily means “OUT OF.”
- “Klesia” – This comes from the verb “kaleo,” which means “TO CALL.”
The two ideas “EK” plus “kaleo” are combined to form a noun. Thus, the meaning of “ekklesia” is “THAT WHICH IS CALLED OUT OF.”
