Denominational Baptism is Wrong Because…
- It Has the Wrong Confession:
- The denominational confession, “God for Christ’s sake has pardoned my sins,” prior to baptism, is unscriptural.
- Believing one’s sins have been forgiven before the blood of Christ is reached (in Biblical baptism) is incorrect.
- The Bible Teaches:
- The proper confession to precede baptism is, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” (Acts 8:35-38)
- Baptism is to save but does not save apart from the blood of Christ. (Mark 16:16, 1 Peter 3:21)
- Denominational Baptism is Wrong Because…
- It Has the Wrong Purpose:
- When one disavows any connection between baptism and salvation, what he submits to is NOT Biblical baptism.
- The Bible Teaches Scriptural Baptism:
- Saves: (Mark 16:16, 1 Peter 3:21)
- Remits Sins: (Acts 2:38)
- Washes Away Sins: (Acts 22:16)
- Is Commanded: (Matthew 28:19-20)
- Biblical Warning:
“But He answered and said, ‘Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.’” (Matthew 15:13)
