What is Wrong with Denominational Baptism?

Denominational Baptism is Wrong Because…

  • It Has the Wrong Confession:
  • The denominational confession, “God for Christ’s sake has pardoned my sins,” prior to baptism, is unscriptural.
  • Believing one’s sins have been forgiven before the blood of Christ is reached (in Biblical baptism) is incorrect.
  • The Bible Teaches:
    • The proper confession to precede baptism is, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” (Acts 8:35-38)
    • Baptism is to save but does not save apart from the blood of Christ. (Mark 16:16, 1 Peter 3:21)
  • Denominational Baptism is Wrong Because…
  • It Has the Wrong Purpose:
  • When one disavows any connection between baptism and salvation, what he submits to is NOT Biblical baptism.
  • The Bible Teaches Scriptural Baptism:
    • Saves: (Mark 16:16, 1 Peter 3:21)
    • Remits Sins: (Acts 2:38)
    • Washes Away Sins: (Acts 22:16)
    • Is Commanded: (Matthew 28:19-20)
  • Biblical Warning:
“But He answered and said, ‘Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.’” (Matthew 15:13)
