The Table is Set

(Luke 14:16-24)

This Great Supper was Marked by:

  • A GREAT PREPARATION (v. 16)
  • The Gospel is the “good news” where the Lord has provided a feast of forgiveness, freedom, fullness, fellowship, and a hopeful future.
  • A GRACIOUS INVITATION (vss. 16, 21-23)
  • This invitation is open to “whosoever,” welcoming all to partake in the blessings of the feast.
  • A GRIEVOUS REJECTION (vss. 18-20)
  • The trivial excuses made by the invited guests diminished the master’s great generosity and kindness, revealing their foolishness in rejecting such a gift.
  • A GLAD RECEPTION (v. 22)
  • There are joyful testimonies from those who have accepted the invitation and come to the Table, celebrating the blessings received.
  • A GRAVE DECLARATION (v. 24)
  • This signifies a final invitation; for some, it may represent God’s last call to come and partake in His feast. The message is clear: The Table is Set!
